NO BACKUP SERVICE - JUST PASSING THE BUG

I received a second hand Verssed VP.3.0 Cellphone as a gift. Aftera few weeks the Battery gave up the gost, and left me stranded without a phone. I am currently unemployed and make use of my cellphone to job hunt, advertise my services, and now I am disconnected. I have searched high and low, from shop to shop, even alternative repair centres, with no luck, Every dealer I went to refers me back to the suppliers (Edcon), and after mailing CNA Customer care, asking whre I can get such battery, the customer care centre keep referring me to my network service provider... Now if I had a problem with my car, do I get referred to Sasol, Shell, BP or Caltex? NOPE... Why can I not purchase a battery in store? I have been without a phone for 2 week because of the battery.

I am getting to a pint where I don't even want a new battery but a replacement phone, without a proof of purchase, as it was a gift, originally from Edcon Group.

I wonder what the CPA is say about this. Surely if you are good enough to take our money, you must be able to support your customers. I can not afford to book it in at your repair centre for a QUOTE of which WILL without doubt be more than the phone is worth. I know how it works, I have been in retail for 14 years... I also know what batteries cost and will most definitely not pay hundreds of Rands for something that's not worth as much.

I look forward to a favourable response,
