mystery for more than a month

My name is Carmen Roberts and I have been trying to sort an “Edcon Account” mystery for more than a month now. I have a joint card with my husband, my personal account has not been in use for several years.

However in February this year I decided to re-activate my own account. The problem started when I made the first payment in March, I asked the teller to check before I paid if it was the dual card or my own. He assured me it was my personal card. I paid an amount of R576.26 on 26 March. A few weeks later I get an sms stating that I am in arrears with the exact amount that I had paid. I called the Edcon enquiry nr they said I had to go to the store & sort it. I went to the store, they in turn said I needed to email my proof.

After doing this, I made another payment in April for R400 (6 April) Again I get an sms stating that I am in arrears with R970.

I sent my proof of payments to both Durban & Jhb accounts and neither has been able to solve my query.

I spoke to Lerato Ngwenya in Jhn and I was emailed by Leone Manneson from Durban.

Somehow my husband’s account has been linked to my account. It does not matter which card I use, his account is paid. Is this really so difficult to understand ? Why would he pay his account twice each month ?

I don’t see how I can be in arrears with an account that I pay each month.

I really do not know how else to explain this, in any other way. How on earth can I keep on paying if the mistake is not fixed ?
