Feel discriminated against by Edcon as a foreigner

I have had an account with Edgars since 2004 when I was at university. I have informed every change of address and every new passport, with movements from the Eastern Cape to Pretoria to Johannesburg. I always pay my account on time and do the right thing always by making sure my details are always up to date. On Thursday last week I sent Edgars a copy of my new ID and the response I got from Portia is that she needed a letter from Home Affairs in order to process the change in details and does not even explain what the letter has to say. I assume it is to verify my document. This is also after having called their service centre to explain my change in status and also asking what they needed to action the change in details. I do not think Edgars asks each and every one of their customers to produce letters from Home Affairs to verify their IDs. I feel targeted as a foreign national and I find their behavior despicable. Does Edgars do this with each and every customer, ask them to produce letters from Home Affairs? I find that difficult to believe If Edgars is to assume my documents are ***** then they should not allow me to give them my custom. I am so disgusted with their service
