Faulty Thank you card frustration

Since December 2017 I've been using my Edgars 'Thank you' card when refuelling at Engen service stations. Due to my company policies I have to use Engen when refuelling.

On Saturday 2018/06/02 I went to CNA at Northgate shopping centre to do a balance statement on my Thank You card. Imagine my disappointment when I was told my card was faulty, it did not register on their system. When they looked my profile up, it showed that I only had R7.95 available!

All the lady could tell me was: 'Sorry, your card is faulty, let me throw it away for you', and chucked it into the dustbin! Not once when my card was swiped at any of the Engen service stations did their card machines report an error on my Edgars Thank You card.

I fill up anything between 55-70L per week, averaging 220-280L per month, swiping my Thank You card since December along with my Engen fuel card. Over 6 months this adds up to 1 ********** L. At 150points per litre, this adds up to 198000 - 252000 POINTS! This is a lot of money I'm loosing out of As I have a fuel card, I have record/ statements of all the above transactions and can prove that I filled up at Engen service stations

Now due to a 'faulty' Thank You card I have nothing? I want to be compensated for my transaction and will forward all fuel statements if required. I would like to know how EDCON is going to resolve this

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention . We are sorry for the disappointment caused to you with the cash rewards card. Kindly collect a new cash card from our Edgar's store and also provide them with your Engen statements for further assistance with the points .***/GO

Kind regards

Went to customer services at Northgate Edgars on Saturday 2018/06/09 where they were at least very friendly. They stated that they could not do anything except to phone the Thank U customer services. After about 45 minutes of poor Constance (from Northgate Edgars) explaining the story over and over and over again and repeating the Ref nr countless times, she was told to email them the fuel statements I gave her. I then also spoke to customer services on the phone and was told they will first investigate and then get back to me... guess it's a wait and see situation now

One last point. On my visit to Northgate Edgars they stated that they could find no record of me ever having an Edgars Thank U card (My ID only reflected the Jet Thank U). Yet today I received an Edgars statement stating that as on 31 May 2018 I had 44,694 points on my Edgars Thank U card?
