Embarassing me infront of customers
On the 23.12.2015, i entered your store. i had my handbag & a small suitcase with me. Before entering the store, i asked one of the securities if its okay to enter the store with the suitcase & i was told its okay. When coming out of the store, my handbag was searched by Clifford and demanded to check my suitcase too,even after telling telling him that my underwear is on the top of my luggage. He didn't care, he continued to unzip my suitcase, searched through my clothes. At that time, i was embarrassed because the customers kept looking at me as if i had ****** something. I kept asking him if what he was doing was allowed, he wouldn't even answer. I was so close to bursting into tears. I didn't know that if you enter an Edgars Store with a suitcase, upon leaving, that suitcase will be thoroughly searched.Thank you very much for treating me like a ********.

We do acknowledge your overall dissatisfaction as well as any associated embarrassment and wish to assure you that whilst it is policy and procedure for our guards to investigate all EAS activations, handbags especially at our CBD store due to a high rate of shoplifting. We do train and trust that our staff will handle all such incidents in a sensitive and professional manner.
NB: Female guards should search female customers and vice versa.
