Edgars only interested in squeezing the last cent
I was retrenched in May last year. I tried to claim from my account protection plan but failed because my employer had been defaulting from paying UIF and Edgars makes it a requirement that one should provide UIF forms as proof of retrenchment.

I accepted this explanation and promised to pay my account from my savings and the part-time work I am doing.

I also requested Edgars to cancel my account protection plan since it had failed to protect me in my time of need and since it is also of no use to an unemployed person. I also requested that they cancel the Edgars Club, Life membership and Jet Club so as to lessen my burden.

I have made this request countless times since last year but up until now these things have not been cancelled.
These things cost me about R100 per month, which is a lot of money for me and is now totaling about R1200 since May 2014.
It seems Edgars is not interested in their customers well fare but only in squeezing the last cent out of you.
