EDGARS and their insurance THEY SUC****

I have had an account at Edgars Stores for about 7 years and Ihave never had a problem like this before.

In the beginning of March 2016 I received a statement that says I owe Edgars R363.58. I went to Edgars Beacon Bay and queried about the amount because at that time to my knowledge I wasn’t owing.

The lady that I reported the matter to told me that the money that was on my account was for Policies. I then remembered that on the 23rd of February I received sms’s from + ********** 030000 that says "Thank you! Your Edgars Personal Accident Policy was enrolled. T&C to be sent within 30 days via your statement method. Edgars Hospital Cashback Policy, Family Provider Policy, Dental Policy and Legal Policy." I never received any letter informing me of terms and conditions or a letter that explains these policies. I never signed anything regarding these policies and no one phoned me.

The lady at Edgars (Beacon Bay) made a call and reported the matter, she then gave me the phone and I was ask to confirm my date of birth for security purposes and I also explained to the lady that I have policies that I know nothing of. The lady I spoke to said the polies will be reversed. On the 18th of March I took my pair of spectacles to Dr. Dullarb and I was charged R1100.00 and I used my Edgars card.

In April I went to Edgars at Vincent Park to pay for my spectacles, I asked how much I owe to see if the policies were reversed. I was told that my balance was R2000 and something. I then asked again what is it for and was told that its polices which means that now they added more money on top of the R363.58 that appeared on March statement. They made a call also and explained that the matter re: Policies was reported in March at Beacon Bay Edgars.

I kept on receiving calls about my overdue account at Edgars and I kept on explaining that I don’t know anything about the policies on my account. I went back to Edgars Beacon Bay and reported that the Policies were never reversed as the amount was still on my statement and I received calls re arrears on my account. Beacon Bay Edgars phoned again and I was again promised that the Policies will be removed on my account.

I received again a call and the lady that I spoke to said how can I say I don’t know anything about these policies whereas I even have a beneficiary whose name is Ntando, Mxala. I told her that there is no Ntando, Mxala in my family and I asked her for the ID number of this Ntando that she was talking about as well as the name of the person that contacted me and offered these Policies and she didn’t give me more information, I told her that if they even have a beneficiary that I don’t even know that means that I’m really being ******.

She said I was phoned and offered these policies and she also asked me where can they send recordings of the call that was made to me, I told her Edgars in Beacon Bay. She said they will send the recording and I must go to the shop and listen to them.

When I went to Edgars they never received any recordings. They phoned again. I was promised that I will be contacted in the next 48 hours.

The calls that I’ve been receiving were not the feedback of the calls that were made at Beacon Bay Edgars but were calls that were telling me I must make an immediate payment to prevent legal action being taken.

I refused to pay for something that I never even signed for. I am also very disappointed that up until now the matter has not been resolved whereas I reported this in March 2016 and STILL it has not been resolved.

HOW LONG DOES SOMETHING LIKE THIS TAKE TO RESOLVE?
