Has anyone noticed the electronic signature pad at the Edcon stores, that requires you to Sign that you have Read and Agreed to T & C's printed at the back of your till slip? You have to sign this without actually getting or reading the actual till slip. Surely this is in contravention to the signing of a legally binding document. Customers are being asked to agree and sign a legally binding agreement without actually reading it first. I find this unacceptable and would like to challenge the legality of this practice. I have tried called the Edcon customer care centre to get answers, which proves impossible. I was sent from pillar to post and when I eventually got to speak to someone, she refused to part with her managers information, who apparently could answer my questions, stating that her manager is not available. She then cut me off. Another challenge for Edcon. Listen to the voice recording of my telephone call.
I trust Edcon will provide a suitable response to my challenge.
