Edcon - Reasons for Financial Situation they are in, explained!!!
Reading articles - Edcon group is suffering - I feel really bad for the thousands of employees... but my recent experience gave me some clarity why they are indeed suffering - cause they suck! Ordered winter clothes on 1 May - just under R6K... was told 3 weeks (which is a long wait but not unreasonable) - 3 weeks later I asked them what's happening (no coms from their side, I always had to contact them) they say sorry and offer a R250.00 voucher (I don't want their voucher cause then I have to wait another couple of months/ or maybe never?) and say it will be another 3 weeks! On 3 June I get an email saying my order have been shipped (more than a week later I still haven't received my order! But wait for it... on 5 June they let me know some items were no longer in stock (it took them two days since the alleged shipment to let me know - with a promise to refund this item - a week later and this alleged refund have not been received (bearing in mind it's only R 150.00). It's cold - it's freezing, my money is with Edcon so I can't buy much needed winter clothes for my 5 year old!!!! The contact center remains unanswered, we are freezing and Edcon is making no effort to deliver/refund/ communicate with us! Edcon if you bother to respond, for reference my order number is *** The cherry on top - I ordered clothes on the 1st of May from Edgars and Superherbalist - the items from Superherbalist arrived in 5 days and I'm yet to see anything from Edgars... how do you compare this in your own mind?
