Edcon RCS incompetence of managing accounts
Since the credit shift from Edcon to RCS, I requested a credit plan change from 6 months to 24 months. Many people, including myself, has been adversely hit by the economic shrink due to the COVID19 pandemic, hence the decision to change my payment plan.
I have phoned the call center for over 6 months, and to date I only received 1 email in March 2021, requesting me to confirm if I wanted a 24 or 36 month plan.
Ever since I started calling, I have been making payments of R900 to R1000 per month, which is what I could afford.
I did respond to the email in March 2021, but even this morning, 17 April, I again received a threatening phone call from the collections department. I again explained my situation to them, and again requested that a note be made on the file that my payment plan request is pending.
I am disgruntled that a request like this takes 6 months. I am upset that due to someone not doing their job, I am receiving late payment charges. I am upset that I did the right thing by requesting a change in payment plan AS SOON AS I realised that I will not be able to make the payments as per the 6 month plan, but due to the incompetence of this company I am receiving a bad credit reputation.
