Edcon issued out a Paid up Letter

Edcon issued me with a paid up letter on the 07/05/2015 for my account now they claim that the account is still having an outstanding balance, and Ricardo and Lee from EDCON telephonically confirmed on the 11th of May 2015 that a paid up letter is isued only issued when an account is fully paid up which is why i don't understand how is it possible that my account is still having an outstanding balance like EDCON say. On the 11th I received an email from VVM Attorneys informing me that Adcon handed my account to them for recoveries. I provided the paid letter to VVM and EDCON via email as proof that I dont have a balance due. Preffered outcome on this matter is that EDCON close my account and update my credit profile.
