This does not begin to explain the frustrations I am going through. I used to have a staff account with Edcon. Since I lost my job. I made means of going to a store to sort out my club benefits and cellphone insurance. This happened mid March. I got my new normal account up and running all by myself of which someone was supposed to change the old staff account into the new normal account. Now, the balance I owed Edcon was moved to the new account. And after waiting for edcon to pay me my leave days, I got a payslip from HR Admin which showed me that the money was paid to my account and I spoke to Phillip about this who told me that on their side it shows that I am paid. He advised I bring a statement from the bank and I emailed it to him - who has not responded after a week I sent the statement. He also advised I communicate with accounts department to check of the money taken and showing on my payslip. Mind you -HRADMIN phone number is never answered. And on top of that, the voicemail does not take any more messages. I, myself again. Stood up. Made an effort and went to Edgars in Protea Glen to check what is going on before it is too late & to get answers from accounts department. Only to find out that the money from my leave days was paid jnto the old account. I asked for them to move the money from a closed account into the active account and I was asked to bring a bank statement again so that I can be reimbursed, I did not want the money to come to me, I wanted my edcon account to be paid. Without any assistance from accounts department that I was liaising with from the store, I was advised to go and follow up with HR. Now, I have been sending countless emails and everytime I get a response 24hr later and on two occasions, the query was sent to the relevant department and on one occasion it was resolved. I have been requesting for someone to call me and I got a response that someone tried to call me and I could not be reached - my response to this was I always have my phone on my hand, so, that someone must have dialed the wrong number because I don't even have a missed call nor a message to notify me of a call from edcon. I was delighted when I got a call from someone in accounts today, only to be told that my account was due for payment yesterday. I explained to the lady that called me but she couldn't help me because she was from collections department & she gave me a reference number which shows that it was only done today on the 2nd. For over 5 days I have been getting email correspondence from accounts that didn't make sense to me and only today a formal customer complaint is being lodged. Do I need to send emails to management for my queries to be sorted? I am unemployed with little income to my bank account and now, when Edcon is holding on to the little monies I am expecting from them and making sure that my account is paid late so that I can stay in debt for longer - this is nasty. And I use money to make calls, to send emails and to travel to stores and CNA building only to get no1 to assist. My frustration is not only on the debt I have with Edcon. This is time draining. I am writing exams and I need all my concentration onto my books not on a debt that will be charged late payment charges. Can someone do their job and come back to me with feedback? I am honestly getting to lose my patience with edcon.
