Customer service non existant

We have purchased a number of phones through edcon. Every phone purchased has mandatory insurance and we are required to cancel this if we no longer need it. My daughters phone fell and broke. We took it in for repair and were told a few days later that it was not insured. 30 minutes later my wife received another call to say that the phone was ready for collection. Today, we went into Edgars Connect Cresta to fetch the phone and find out what was happening with the insurance. Firstly, the phone is not at the branch. Secondly when we inquired about the insurance, the lady assisting us phoned the call centre to get information for us. After a long wait, she was put through to a call agent who immediately put her back on hold until the switchboard shut down for the weekend.

We have escalated the complaint to the Edgars Connect Cresta mall management to address as you sent the cell phone in store for repairs and have not yet managed to receive any proper feedback . A reference number for the formal complaint logged on your behalf is as follows ***/GO. We understand all the inconveniences caused and frustrations incurred by the above matter. The store management will look into the matter and revert with feedback accordingly. Should you not receive feedback within 48 hours Kindly contact the Edcon Customer Experience Head Office at ***and quote your reference number.

Kind regards,

Customer Experience Team

Have just been to the store and were advised that they are unaware of any correspondence from head office regarding this matter. Who is bsing who. Can't understand why it takes so long to return a phone. Still waiting for proof that we cancelled insurance on this phone. I believe that your ineptitude is unfair on the staff in the store as I may not be very polite the next time that I go there and in all fairness they are not to blame for this incident.

Still no further response from Edcon regarding this issue! Phone was originally handed in on the 17th of April. Who do I have to contact to get this resolved?

Still waiting for the promised call from the regional manager regarding proof required that shows we cancelled the insurance. Would apreciate some sort of response from Edcon even if to be told that they are not interested in looking into my issue - as per usual the silence is deafening.
