card charges
I went into Edgars store, Vangate mall on 05/04/2016 to make payment on my account. I had another query and the consultant Chenice Roelf was very helpful and assisted but she forgot to hand back my card. Yesterday I realised I don't have my card and went back to the store. I was sent to customer services where I was told that they blocked my card and would charge me R50 for a new card. I was gob smacked as they blocked my card and want to charge me? I asked the consultant to check for my contact detail and read it back to me and it was all correct. She said my card was blocked on the same day of payment. I asked why the store didn't call me to collect my card and she rep**** she has no idea. I asked to speak to the store manager. Consultant came back and said the manager says Chanice is not on duty today, I must come back tomorrow when she's there. I went back today and straight to Chanice who explained that it's store policy to hand the cards in immediately to management which she did. She took me to the manager Shameez who said she cannot authorise the new card without payment as they followed procedure. I said but you did not cause no one called me? why was I not called? She said she cannot answer for the consultant. I said I can't afford to pay for Edcon management's lack of customer service and she said then there's nothing she can do. I left the store without a card cause I don't have money and I am not paying for their negligence. Why sent me from pilar to post and spin a lot of different stories when you know what the outcome would be? and she calls herself a manager who cannot take responsibility for what happens in her store under her command? This is a very clever and quick way to make thousands out of existing clients. I've decide to pay my account up and never to deal with them again and hope to make all their clients aware of their underhand operations.
