Are the calls legit or just another ****?
I have received 2 or 3 calls from someone who says they are from Edcon (always a private number - so no positive identity) whereby the person asks me if I am - and then gives me my name - and tells me all the calls are recorded. I tell her I am that person, and then she continues asking me for my home address / ID number / etc. How can I give some stranger my personal details over the phone if I don't even know who they are and if they are actually from Edcon?<br> <br> The lady that called me this morning was quite rude and didn't want to listen to me.<br> They have my cell number and my name and although I appreciate the fact that they need to confirm they are speaking to the correct person, pls advise how I know that the calls are legitimate and that this person is from Edcon? <br> <br> I have money deducted from my bank account monthly by some unknown person/company, that I have to have reversed every month, so I am very skeptical to give out any personal details.<br> <br> Edcon, if these calls are from you, pls don't expect people just to give out their personal details - not in today's world of ****s and *****s.
