3 Faulty Beds in 4 Years – No Accountability, No Response from Edblo
I purchased an Edblo Queen bed in 2021 through Mattress King, expecting a quality product from a well-known brand. Instead, I’ve endured three product failures in just four years — and severe back pain as a result.
2021: Mattress springs failed within the first year. It was replaced under warranty.
2022: Replacement mattress also failed. I was charged R453 for another one.
2025: Once again, the mattress springs are worn and the base has collapsed (sagging wood). I am in constant pain.
Each time I’ve dealt with Edblo directly, and each time I’ve been made to pay more. They have now quoted me R2,000+ for another replacement, despite the product being under warranty and clearly defective.
I have written formal emails. I have offered a reasonable compromise. I have explained the impact on my health. Their response? Silence. No apology. No phone call. No accountability.
I have now lodged a formal complaint with the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud (CGSO) and am taking this public because consumers deserve to know what they are buying — and how Edblo handles complaints.
A bed is a long-term investment in your health and well-being. What I received was repeated defects, mounting costs, and total disregard from a brand I trusted. Avoid Edblo.
More than a week later, and still no word from Edblo. No apology. No explanation. No accountability.
After three failed mattresses, repeated warranty fees cost, and ongoing back pain, I have been met with arrogant silence.
This isn’t just poor customer service. Its a complete failure of ethics and brand responsibility. If this is how Edblo treats loyal, paying customers, imagine how little they care about the quality of their products.
Silence is not a solution. It’s a shame! Edblo, do better or be remembered for how you failed when it mattered!!

You have now “reduced” the warranty fee to R1654.28, but this is the third time I am being asked to pay for a replacement on a product that has consistently failed. This is not a goodwill gesture, it's another attempt to shift the cost of poor manufacturing onto the consumer.
Let me be very clear! I am not interested in paying any further warranty fees for a bed that has already proven to be of unacceptable quality. The Consumer Protection Act guarantees my right to goods that are durable, of good quality, and fit for purpose. Your product has failed three times in less than five years. This is not normal wear and tear. This is a defective product line.
You have misled the consumer by marketing this product as high quality while repeatedly supplying faulty goods and then charging me each time the product fails. I have now lodged a formal complaint with the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud, as this clearly warrants formal intervention.
You have an opportunity to do the right thing and resolve this matter fairly. Your lack of accountability is alarming and your refusal to take ownership borders on negligence. I will not pay to correct your repeated manufacturing failures. This is no longer a consumer service issue. It's a matter of principle, ethics and the law!
