Sold Expired chocolates
On the 01/04/2024 I went to Econofoods in Bloemfontein no, 10 Loop street, Hilton. I and my wife bought chocolates for myself and my children. We were sold expired chocolates. Their expiry date was 08/01/2024. The chocolates expired more than two months ago. On the 03/04/2024 when I go there to complain and gave them package of expired chocolate and explained that I now have diarrhea me and my children after consuming expired chocolates. I was told by the lady called Jacolette that they will take a sample of expired chocolate to the laboratory and then check if those expired chocolates can cause diarrhea. After some investigation they will ask their health and safety officer to call me. Now my complain and concern is that this matter has not received urgent attention that it deserves. Because according to them I didn't go to the doctor meaning whatever I and my children are going through is nothing. Also she never apologized nor refunded me for selling expired chocolate to me and making profit out of something that could poison a person. I believe they prioritize profits over life. Till now I am still waiting for the Health officer to call me. Nobody has a right to sell expired things to people. I wonder if they will like it if their own children will consume expired things. I was at least expecting an apology by now. I also dropped my complain today on their website till now there is no even an acknowledgement of receipt of my complain. They are rendering a very bad service and do not want to take responsibility. Lastly I will like to know how much profit did they make out of expired things which must never be sold.
