www.ecodepo.co.za is a waste of time
I have 2 orders open I did 9th and 10th Feb. The orders are NOT on stock and they just order from China, what I can do myself.. and cheaper, if I do so.
I send them a message on the day I ordered the second order, to check if we can pool the orders to save me the transport fees.. I would have taken a credit for the next order. They were no able to do that, even the items were not even on stock and ready to ship. We can also say that the communication with support is worse than bad.. NOTHING!
I wrote them last week, that they please cancel my order. No more communication from that point. The first order were 2 solar panels and a charger. Had a knock on my door right now. The courier wants to deliver the charger only. Rejected it as there are no solar panels with the delivery. The second order was a battery... lets see if they want to deliver that one in pieces. Honestly, stay far away from EcoDepo.co.za ... order yourself from the outside, they run no local stock, which I would more than happy support, but really simple, if they just order from China them self, I can do that myself. Will never use that online waste of time again. If I would have ordered myself, I would already have the items..

03 Mar 2021, 12:04Dear Jay, our apologies that you were not informed that your order will be dispatched from 2 different warehouses. It will unfortunately not be delivered at the same time as one will be shipped from CPT and one from JHB, its a bit impossible for them to arrive on the same day at the same time. We do not order any stock from China and we do not import anything ourselves, items are shipped from warehouses within SA. There seems to be a bit of confusion with regards to you thinking it will be shipped from China. One of our agents will check-up again and try to resolve the shipping issue asap because your order is overdue for delivery.

03 Mar 2021, 13:58We would like to do that but unlike others, we don't have all products at one DC (distribution center) like Takealot and some others, we ship directly from supplier warehouses so when it's a multi-vendor order, those orders will be shipped from individual warehouses.

03 Mar 2021, 14:09When I make a order of 10 items at Takealot, I get one order with 10 items.. just as you mentioned Takealot. Some seem to be able to do what you can't.. is bad for nature and is also a nuisance if you have to watch out for 10 couriers instead of one.
I order from now on myself directly from outside the country.. sad, but I do not need help placing an order. I support gladly local stock. My order is open with you guys for 3 weeks now.. no wasn't stock, or was it?

I prefer written contact to spoken as I can not record the calls. I prefer to have a 'copy' of what got exchanged, makes things easier to prove. I use this platform to document my experiences and not write a fantasy story.

07 Mar 2021, 10:47 Update on the orders. None is done and completed yet. Tomorrow we are 1 month into the order.
So I went surfing.. I found the same battery, same dimensions, same AH, same max charge, same same.. half price and free shipping.. China. You order 10, you can put your own sticker on.
And I chat with a Chinese Solar system manufacturer. Checking on shipping at the moment. A full 5KVa hybrid system (48v) with 5000 watt panel capacity and a 10KW battery bank, mounting and cable plus plugs. 4k$US.. 60k Rand. Seeing those prices makes me go off Eskom right away.. and not the 150-200k Rand the local stores want. Paid back within 4 years.. and not 10 with the local pricing.
Yes, I have to import myself.. but for saving 100k Rand on a single project, yes, more than willed to import myself.. customs are not that complicated either.
Curious when I will get my solar stuff from EcoDepo.. or if my full system will be here faster ordered from China. If shipping looks fine, ordering tomorrow.
I keep track here till my orders are done with Ecodepo. Lets see how many days it will still take.

But to my strange surprise, I just got 2 products with one courier delivery... so, more or less 4 weeks delivery time. One tracker I got send, just never got used.. I leave it here.. and this is my last entry for this order.
