Eco Sky Solar
I got Eco Sky Solar out 4th of April 2024, to come and give me a quote to upgrade my existing Solar System. I wanted to upgrade my old Sun Pays 5kva Inverter to a Deye 5kva Inverter and add a new extra Pylontech UP5000 to my existing 2 Pylontech Battery Bank. They said I should add a Volta 5kva Battery as it is a better battery, instead of the Pylontech I requested. I agreed as I’m not an expert on this matter. They quoted me and I paid them. Just before installation they informed me that they phoned around, and the Volta battery would not be compatible with my Pylontech batteries, they now recommend a Deye battery as it compatible with the Pylontech Batteries. We agreed upon the installation for 4th of April 2024 at 09H00, upon which they only arrived around 11H00. Spent the day installing and upgrading the new system, but come close of day, they could not get the existing Pylontech batteries to talk to the new Deye 5kva Inverter. The ‘’Comms’’ did not reflect the Pylontech Batteries as the ‘’Master’’, so they made the Deye Battery the master and the 2 Pylontech batteries the slaves. But this configuration did not work either as the first Pylontech slave did not charge properly at all! They kept on setting the Deye Inverter to all kind of settings and kept phoning around for possible solutions, after they told me how highly qualified, they are in this field. No luck, so they took off the Pylontech batteries after a few days, and just ran the Deye Battery on its own. They said I should get rid of the Pylontech batteries. This was unacceptable! I then took matters into my own hands and phoned the importers of Pylontech in Centurion, to come and resolve this dismal situation I found myself in. Their technician came out, saw there was a problem with the first Pylontech slave, ran diagnostics and found that they have hurt the communication board, with incorrect charging and set up. I had to but a brand-new communication board (which I have proof of) at R3000.00 and paid a call out fee of R1500.00 to repair the damaged board. The technician loaded the new board and software and within no time got the 2 Pylontech Batteries, to communicate with the new Deye Inverter and removed the Deye Battery immediately. I have asked Eco Sky Solar to refund me my money for the Deye Battery they recommended, at first, they said no problem, but subsequently have decided not to take my calls or even answer my text messages. I’m now stuck with a brand new R22 500.00 Deye battery in its box, that is paid for in full, which I can do absolutely nothing with!! Not a happy customer of Eco Sky Solar!
