Eco Rubber maintenance a disappointment!

Towards the end of last year (2019) I contacted Frank Juskievitz from Eco Rubber to quote me on doing some waterproofing maintenance on a flat section of roof. This he did using Google maps as they did not come out for the quote. The cost ended up being just under R10,000.

The roof immediately leaked after the first rain. It turned out that I needed an extra section maintained that was mentioned in passing by the contractor doing the work when he left after the first job. Initially Eco Rubber wanted me to get someone else to do it but I insisted on using a single company else any leaks would become an exercise in finger-pointing. Another R1,950 later and the additional gully was done.

After another heavy bit of rain the roof *still* leaked. I then contacted Frank again and initially they could not find anything but then said that they did spot something but that the extra work would be another ~R10,000. At this point I gave up and decided to try and fix the roof myself using a DIY kit. It has been OK but whenever we have heavy rain the roof leaks.

Now, I should mention that the old, unmaintained roof, did *not* even leak. I had the roof maintained based on the advice from an acquaintance.

Frank is a super nice guy but I'm afraid that the workmanship has let him down as per what appears to be becoming the South African way :(
