ECO DIRECT - TERRIBLE AFTER SALES SERVICE

Eco Direct installed our photovoltaic system in march 2019. It initially worked fine but has since become a source of immense frustration. I have no electrical expertise so I cannot elaborate technical details but during power outages it started to cut out when we used some higher power appliances like the oven. This problem has got worse and now we are at the point where even in the middle of the day the system will not run anything when power is out. We basically have some very expensive roof decorations. We no longer get any response from Douglass Weidemann who initially kept trying to tell us it was a load issue. When we bought the system we were running a home office with 5 permanent staff and we went through load shedding periods with no problems. This was despite staff boiling kettles, using the microwave etc, and all while the pool pump was on. The battery and panels were supposed to have warranties but we were never given documentation for this. As we get no response from Eco Direct, we are now approaching other service providers to see if anything is worth salvaging. It has only been three and a half years since we installed the system. I would recommend anyone interested in a home solar installation stay well away from Eco Direct.
