Eugene Marais + Echelon Private Client Insurance = Most Shocking Representation of Short-Term Insurance!!!

I've been an existing Echelon client since 2015, have 4 of my properties, vehicle & household contents covered under this policy, no previous claims until 22 July 2019 when my Fortuner's front passenger window was smashed & dashcam ******; this claim was only finalised on 27 September 2019. On 9 August 2019, my house was burgled with electronic devices & watches ******; I initially provided the claim form on 12 August 2019, a detailed summary of the ****** items with its specifications was then requested from me on 13 August 2019. I then submitted a SAPS Affidavit as well as Quotations with its specifications for the ****** items on 26 August 2019, detailing every piece of item. I then met with the Insurance Assessor, Trevor Cranfield, on 28 August 2019 where we discussed the claim & he obtained additional info. I was called by Trevor on 9 September 2019 informing me that my claim was approved, he then emailed me the Claim Summary on 10 September 2019, I rep**** with updated figures that needed to be added as these were related to the Claim. On 20 September 2019, I received the final claim summary with a total excess of R6 000; I rep**** to the email that included Trevor, Eugene Marais, Delicia Hans & Hazel Carelse, with my dissatisfaction regarding the turnaround of my claim as well as the R6 000 excess which would result in a financial loss for me. Eugene rep**** to my email on 20 September 2019 giving me a typical explanation with a referral to my policy response then telling me that he's discussed the Excess with Echelon & await a reply. I had no update or feedback until I emailed Eugene on 7 October 2019 requesting an update, he rep**** with a "Sorry, but no good news yet........I am meeting tomorrow with the company sales representative." Today is the 12th of October 2019 & I am yet to receive an update or proactive email from Eugene. I'm not sure if it's Echelon or Eugene Marais specific but as an individual who works in the Sales & Service Industry, this is by far the most shocking, unacceptable, inexcusable display of service.

Excess:
We were first advised that you were not happy with settlement with your complaint on this platform submitted 12/10/2019.
We have reviewed the claim, and as a gesture of goodwill we will be waiving the R5000 excess. Your broker will be sent an amended Agreement of Loss soonest.
