Terrible service at Dunkeld Equestrian Estate
We visited Dunkeld Equestrian Estate early in 2021 and the family loved the variety of activities that are offered inside the Estate including Quad bikes, horse riding, fly fishing, Archery, and a Spa inside. The Equestrian Estate is stunning with amazing views. We decided to go back in December 2021 with extended family and this time around we booked a bigger 8 Sleeper unit only to find the resort has deteriorated terribly since our last visit. We arrived on day 1 at 15h00 to a filthy place with dust everywhere and mud on patios, a blocked kitchen sink and broken glass door on the fire place. We spent the rest of the 4 days stay making several phone calls to reception complaining. From a bathroom door falling off its hinges, blocked sinks, beds not made, house not cleaned etc and one of the days we spent 10 hours without electricity. Dirty dish towels and oven gloves get soaked in a dirty mopping bucket and left outside behind the ******* bin. By day 2 we had run out of clean dish towels. Bathroom towels only provided after we complained. The management don't take any accountability and keep giving nonsensical excuses for the pathetic service. Phoning reception is a mission, firstly you use own air time and they answer after 25 missed calls. Paying for activities is a mission as you have to drive each time 5kms to the main reception to make a payment - nothing is co-ordinated.
The unit next to us was over crowded with the guests just blocking the road with their convoy of cars. There's just no order in this estate.
The Go Touchdown Group who own Dunkeld estate seems to have a bad reputation of taking beautiful resorts and running them down. There's similar customer complaints about Seasons Golf and Spa resorts based in Haartebee****rt.
