EC loans are ******** beware

I app**** for a loan and I got an sms with a debit order mandate to verify if those are a my correct banking details. Accepted the debit order mandate. Then my account was debited for an amount of R249.00. I then did my research about the company and called my bank and I discovered that they work under false pretense with Sanlam. I called they also confirmed with me that they have been getting a lot of complaints about EC loans. The also denied involvement with them. I would like to warn people about this *******. Please see below the email they sent me Thank you for applying for a loan with us. In order for us to proceed with your loan application we have to verify your bank account, you will get a Debi-Check notification directly from Standard Bank Limited for Account Number *** " We partnered with Sanlam Life just to confirm bank details " on your cell phone, and can be done on the phone or Internet Banking requesting you to accept so we can proceed with the application to avoid ***** for your benefit and ours during this time and part of our Terms and Conditions. Dear...................

If you reject the Debi-Check please re-apply on the website as we won't be able to re-submit unless you re-apply in order to Approve the Debi-Check process. The R 249.99 is not payable upfront so ( No Transaction will go off your account today ) it will confirm that the account number is correct to pay the loan in. We will start processing your loan as soon as this is done and you will receive an email with what documentation you need to send if needed. You will receive feedback within 24 hours.
