The reason people hate dentists

Saw Muhammad Ebrahim in Rosebank and he asked me many a question regarding my life to "build rapport" which is fine but he never asked me about my dental hygiene habits, preferring to make his own incorrect assumptions and run with them.

He continually told me that my teeth were rotten which is aggressive since the result was that I need ONE filling.

Mostly he just wouldn't listen. My pain is where I said it was all four times he asked then told me that I was wrong. I had never been to him before so asking if I had three times was also frustrating as was the fact that he never introduced himself.

He left the doors to the room and practice open the whole time because apparently it gets hot but it is still a medical facility and at no point was my privacy considered or permission requested. When I brought this up it was just expected that I be okay with it and it was treated as a non starter.

When I asked what Porphyria was since it was on the medical history form I got no explanation and was told to just leave it.

Ended up screaming at him as I left since he just wouldn't hear my concerns, as above, and told me that I walked in with an attitude. 1. I didn't and 2. even if I did it is not my job to put him at ease. It is however the responsibility of the healthcare provider to understand that people seek medical services for various reasons some of which may be associated with fear and harm and even if it is not just because the patient is in a vulnerable position doesn't mean that they are insignificant of that your knowledge of the anatomy trumps their knowledge of themselves.
