WORST ASSESSOR EVER! CONRAD VERMAAK

Drove to Easyway Bryanston after setting up a time for assessment resultant from a May 28TH accident

The assessment was carried out by Conrad Vermaak. Before the assessment I briefed him on the damages I had noticed and produced photos of the accident scene and car I was told that he will only be assessing the “visible” damage to the car and he would take photos as well after he impatiently pushed me off to the waiting room while he proceeded with the assessment. Fewer than 10 mins later the assessment of the damage was completed

During the approved repairs the panel beaters informed me that the exhaust damage will not be repaired as they had not received approval from the assessor. I phoned FFW insurance. I was told that there was a misunderstanding -the repairs consultant for FFW also confirmed that Conrad had refused to fulfil the request. Eventually it was repaired after delays and insurance intervention

After repairs were completed - I was told telephonically by Conrad that the panel beaters had repaired all the damage incurred by the accident and that HE WAS satisfied -the car will be ready for pick up at the bryanston assessment centre. On my arrival in the morning the car was not ready for collection Conrad had not acknowledged me I went to his desk and asked for his assistance only to be brushed off to Thembi who pleasantly offered to bring my car into the centre so that I could check and assess it properly.

Conrad did not proceed to do a full assessment of the repairs with me instead another assessor Michael arrived and acknowledged me after noticing me assessing the car on my own. Michael even referred to me by my name despite not being the appointed assessor for the repairs and offered his assistance. During this time we noticed a dent on the boot which was spray painted over and not repaired. When Michael enquired with Conrad if he had noticed it – he dismissed it from his desk “that’s old damage”. We further noticed the front fog light which moved back after hitting the taxi in front of me during the accident had also not been repaired.

Eventually I was abruptly told by Conrad to wait while he checked the photos to see if the damage was there. During this time I am highly irritated at his service, already late for work and also at him dismissing damage as old when in fact I have photographic proof that the damage was as a direct result of the accident. He refused to listen to what I had to say and instructed “me to sit and wait” while he looked for pics of the accident. Eventually pulls out a photo in which damage was not visible - he did not take close up photos of the damage. I refused to deal with him and informed him I would refer to my insurance with my photographic proof – to which he responded with a smug “do that”I phoned my insurance that immediately assured me that the matter will be referred to Conrad’s manager at Easyway bryanston. FFW arranged for a follow up assessment as per protocol.

The 2nd Assessor came by my office and assessed the repairs and further pointed out other damage picked up from Conrad’s photos -which he had failed to approve repairs on. After viewing my close up photos of the bumper which clearly shows the damage caused on the boot the 2nd assessor agreed that the repairs were incomplete and the remaining damage was consistent with the damage as per the accident report and insurance claim.

Easyway was entrusted by my insurers to carry out honest assessment of damage. Instead Conrad Vermaak was dishonest; showed no ethic and displayed shockingly bad customer service. As a result I am now inconvenienced into having to take the car in again for further repairs. Despicable incompetence like this should be dealt with accordingly. It’s bad enough to deal with the stress of an accident but to be duped by people like Conrad is downright pathetic. Clearly he should NOT BE WORKING IN THE CUSTOMER SERVICE INDUSTRY. Perhaps his colleagues Michael and Thembi who were exceptionally good can teach this pathetic excuse of a being something. If you have the misfortune of an accident or have to deal with Easyway- never mind *****ed panel beaters DO NOT ALLOW CONRAD VERMAAK TO ASSESS your car -you will be *****ed over x 10!
