Second time botched job
I tried not to write this review, but after what happened today, i have no choice. I used Easylife Kitchens Brackenfell services to fix a botched job that a previous contractor did on my property, thinking that i was using a professional company to fix a big problem. I consulted with the project manager 8 months before work was to commence so that everything would be in order when we began because my time was very limited. The work was supposed to take 2 weeks, it ended up taking almost 4. The project manager had since left the company, but was still in charge of my project. However he and their contractor were gone most of the time working on a different project and just left their workers there alone with me, while things went terribly wrong and low quality work was done. Every time i asked "who is managing this project", the project manager would say, "discuss it with them" (ie Easylife kitchens). When i discussed it with EasyLife, they said he was in charge. Until the end i still had no idea who managed this project. The faucet and hardware i asked for 8 months ago, still hadn't been bought in the middle of the project, so i had to buy it myself, even though i was already quoted for hardware. Kitchen measurements were incorrect and some cabinets and the countertop had to be redone. The box doors i asked for ended up being some cheap pieces of plywood looking material that looked awful and i asked them to remove it (Thanks to Dion, the manager for refunding me for that). I had to improvise and have them drill into my expensive shaker room doors to put it on the old sliding frame which looks awful and really doesn't work. The walls are skew and cracking. The plumbers had to come 4 times to fix a leak that should have been fixed the first time, and then charged me for the last time, even though i already paid for all plumbing and electrical. Easylife contractors refused to pay and i was forced to pay for the so-called 'extra work'. This work was done about 2 months ago. And today something electrical blew in my new kitchen, fiery embers almost blew into my face and all over my table and floor. This could have caused a bad injury, or even worse, it could have caused a fire. These are only a few of the issues i faced with Easylife Kitchens. I have had enough now, and no longer want anything to do with Easylife kitchens. I will attempt to get an electrician to rewire all the electrical work in my property, as i am now terrified of anything else blowing and causing an injury to me or my family, or even a fire in my property. And i must add that this job was not cheap. The only positive was that Dion, the manager, was very apologetic and helpful to try and solve these problems. Unfortunately he may need to get a more competent team. So thanks to Dion for his help, but i do not want anyone else to experience the hell I've been through, and it's still not over. I can only hope that no other issues arise in the future. Please do not choose this company if you want quality, professionalism and no future issues.
