Lives at High Rrisk at Eastgate Shopping Mall with regards to UBER
This is a complaint about the security at Eastgate which includes the management at the Eastgate office as well. I am extremely frustrated with what goes on at the Eastgate mall and believe me the management does nothing. My complaint was addressed with both managers, Rishav Singh and Riaan ?.
So let me add that a nice article was placed in the JHB East Express newspaper, which clearly states that shoppers should wait for their Uber at Entrance 2(Woolworths Entrance). On Saturday at around 2 my mum and I were threatened and in fact almost ****ed at the Eastgate shopping centre, when meter taxis surrounded the Uber that we were in. They had blocked the parking and the driver could not find his way out. The useless armed response guys just folded their arms and looked at what was happening, whilst my mum and I were so horrified and so traumatized inside the car.. The meter taxi guys threatened to shoot the tyres and also repeatedly said, " GET OUT OFF THE CAR...After getting off the Uber and struggling to get out of the centre with all our shopping scattered in the parking lot, I contacted the Eastgate office and was put through to the control room. After waiting in the blazing sun, the security guards rocked up about 10 minutes later. We then waited for them to bring their cart along so that we could go to the Holiday Inn to get an Uber to go home. Believe me Riaan the manager was also present, but was too busy on his mobile and never did much. Another Taxify driver was behind us, cause he was also chased by the meter taxi guys, so luckily we asked him to follow us so that we could go home with him, although I did not have the app, I paid him R50 just so that we could get out of there. Money is not the issue, our lives are most important. In fact it is so sad, cause I had calls from Uber in Egypt and yet the Eastgate management is still contacting me...how sad...or really no sense of urgency, until someone gets ****ed. Why does this only happen at Eastgate and no other mall. Does management have a don't care a damn attitude....or how many more years will it take them to sort out this problem. Today I took an Uber to the oriental plaza, and once again my Uber driver Ali, told me how he was harassed last night at entrance 2 around 7 and had to cancel his trip. So I am sick and tired of dealing with Eastgate and would love to speak to the highest management at Liberty, maybe they will help resolve this issue. I await a response in anticipation.
