LACK OF SECURITY MAJOR ISSUE

To Whom it may concern,

Kindly note that your security in the undercover parkings are seriously lacking. Today at 13:30 there were 2x individuals riding bicycles in the undercover parking, in which case there was no security patrolling at all. I had to wait for them to pass before I could park.

This would not be the first time, then there was someone sitting by the dustbin right next to the pay machine, asking for money. Woolworths security apparently did not see this, and there was no security driving through the underground parking, not even when we entered or exited the parking area which we pay a fortune to park there, expecting to be safe and not be accosted. Then there was someone that came down the stairs and decided to come ask me for money while I fiddling in my boot. Another two, I was bothered twice by the same person on two separate occasions, requesting money for a place to stay.

I just do not understand, why I am paying for undercover parking to be harassed. You go to the bank and when you are done, you still have to pay R10 for parking. I am sure you can up the security to do routine patrols in the undercover parking for loiterers and other shady characters.

I see the security patrols the unpaid parking areas when I recycle stuff but you need to allow them access to undercover parking as this is will chase clients away if they cannot feel safe when parking at your shopping centre especially when we are paying for what? When I do shop at Eastgate it is only because the other centre's around Bedfordview do not have some of the stores I go to. Eastgate is my last resort these days and it used to be one of my favourite malls but with regards to the above issues, I avoid Eastgate 90% of the time.
