DJ is inaudible

Recently, and just a short while ago, the DJ seems to be talking away from the mic. The music plays at the correct volume, but when the DJ talks, she is inaudible. This has also been a problem over the festive period during which time the same thing happens. It is highly irritating. What's going on?
