Disgraceful treatment at health center.

<p>The Clinic is well structured and equiped with the resources however the service is not very great. Yesterday I arrived at 7:00 AM for my first pregnancy check-up, the waiting line was very long however they had divided it into two just to make things easy. One for consultation and the other for the Doctor. As a first time visitor I had to undergo a lot of tests and came early just for that. There were like five consultation rooms with a single nurse inside and one room had two nurses that did blood tests and scaling, so I thought that I could be done by 12:00 pm. The nurse asked that the first time visitors should form their own line and so we did and we were only six. They told us what will happen and gave us our cards, we started with urine testing and then HIV testing and were done by 9:00 am. The line then started dragging and only were done with all my blood tests around 11:20 pm and three others finished after 12pm. Then was told to rejoin the line for consulatation for physical examination. The line went very slow and nurses just disappeared on us and no one told us what was going on. Two consultation nurses were left, the operational manager and two ladies in the blood test section while over 15 patients were waiting. Then a patient who was in labour came in and the nurses who were there had to attend her first, so we understood and did not complain until they made us wait for another two hours. We started complaining and because no one told us what was going on and where the nurses have gone to and that the manager just passed us as if we were not there and did not explain anything to us was just infuriating. At 14:38 the manager came out of her office and told us that they short staffed and that she is sorry but she was not even looking at us or paying attention to what she was saying as she was talking, sorting papers while addressing us and also coming and going from her office. She just had no time for us. At 16:20 I was still at the clinic being the sixth in line with 8 other people behind me. The manager Mrs Gwamase if I am not mistaken, helped one patient and then left without adressing us and only one nurse was left to attend us. I deci1ded to leave because of being furious and fustrated by the treatment we got....</p>
