R10k vacuum lasted just three years, terrible aftercare

After supporting Dyson for years, I’m incredibly disappointed by the aftercare and customer service. Three years after purchasing our Dyson vacuum, it stopped working. We assumed it was the battery. After weeks of trying to figure out where to get support, we were eventually referred to Tudortech.

We sent the vacuum in expecting a battery replacement of around R2000, only to receive a R4700 repair quote for multiple issues: motor failure, battery failure, and, most importantly, “failure in the main control module.”

We contacted Dyson directly to ask whether they would consider offering a discount towards a new device, given our long-standing support of the brand and the fact that these failures were not caused by us. We didn’t even receive a response, despite following up. It’s incredibly disappointing that a R10k vacuum barely lasted three years, but even more disappointing was the complete lack of support and customer care when something went wrong.

I expected much better from Dyson.
