Awaiting balance on the house sold.

My mother sold her house around september 2017. She was staying with her man since the 90's until the man passed on. They were never married. The house was in both their names and when the man died, she decided to sell the house and come back home. After the house was sold they only paid almost half the amount and the rest was not paid. When we enquire they dont give us a clear answer on what is going on. I dont know if they are taking advantage of whether she is not educated. I enquired from other attorneys in mokopane and they said that because the bond was both in their names, what needs to be done is that, estate late account needs to be opened with the bank and letter of authority with endor*****t or letter of executorship, two id's(deceased and beneficiary id, death certificate and proof of residence) needs to be submitted and all was submitted but they say they still needs to present the case to the magistrate. Its been long, we dont know what to do anymore. They never had any kids and the husband never had kids outside as well. Please assist.
