Great Work, Clown Owner
Difficult one to rate. The floors were finished off beautifully and we couldnt be happier. Staff seem relatively nice.
Issues: 1. I asked the staff to remove my skirtingboards, they did not ask for compensation, but in return for there kindness, I donated a soccer kit to each and one set of cricket kit as they were avid sportsman. I was in my complex when they left and did not go check up on the place (stupid on my part, I trust too easily). When getting home the evening (9pm), I was greated by a 4 meter long skirting in my passage. If I was made aware of this when they left I would have made a plan to get rid of it but alas the communication was shocking.
2. The staff had left the lights on in my lounge and dining room area, I cannot confirm the time it had been on for but between them leaving and us coming home had been +- 5 hours.
3. My bathroom looked "well used" when we got home. I can understand some dust, it would be a natural by-roduct of the service but it looked like they each took a shower in there, ie: the dust was wet and all over. We had to throw away our face clothes. Now, Im not complaining about the dust specifically but how in Mother Theresas name do you make ALL of the dust in the bathroom wet and our faceclotes so dirty that they looked used and not just covered with risidual dust?
4. Job not completed as the transition strips were not supp****. We were promised it on Tuesday the 2nd of January 2017, no contact from them up until Friday the 5th of January 2017.
Now, I like to think that I am a fair person and generally choose my battles wisely. The next section was based on an interaction with the owner where he, as the service provider should be understanding to the customer. I am not too proud of my way of handling the situation but the owner should really do some soul searching and perhaps learn some manners.
The owner: A real piece of work, a fantastic representative for the service industry in South Africa.
I called him on Friday the 5th of January. Our conversation is parphrased below:
I thanked him for the great work, the floors really do look amazing. I started off with the skirting board issue, just letting him know that I think the communication from his staff is an area that needs work. He got extremly aggressive, throwing comments like "getting his staff to do work without his permission", "using his company time for my own gain". My response, although not great, I admit was something along the lines of: "I find your response unacceptable".
This response triggered this poor man and everything went down hill from there. Typical South African business owner with too much testosterone and a chip on his shoulder, shouting etc etc. I then asked that we move on as I need them to finish the job.
We then moved onto the transition strips which was not supp**** as promised. I let him know that his staff promised it for the 2nd January, his response was that it was a public holiday. I found this strange for two reasons, 1) His staff said thats when they would come instal it 2)If it was a public holiday, it would be strange that alot of business' would open then.
This was an answer I was not satisfied with and suggested we "leave it, not to worry", no one was going to win this argument (from the part that it went downhill) and I was willing to move on with my life and forget about this emotionally unintelligent, testosterone driven clown.
Just when I thought the trigger was already pushed, I was surpsised to find out that the man had two health bars and lo-and-behold, he was triggered again (If you ever read this, please let me know what you do to be so damn angry). The comments were along the lines of: "I dont take **** from anyone", "Are you trying to be clever with me", the normal idiot, emotionally unitelligent rant, to which I responsed (paraphrasing): "No, I as a client was trying give you feedback on your service". He promtly put the phone down in my ear.
Eddy, I know that you are unable to accept criticism without confrontation and your default response is to argue, threaten and get violent but seriously, I was trying to be civil and due to you having no emotional intelligence, I was unable to. I truthly believe you need to do some work on yourself, on your anger, general attitude and the way you talk to people. I pity you.
But seriously, go **** yourself, you are a real piece of siht.
