Disappointment on the highest level by Durban Spa

My family and I are currently staying at Durban Spa, and I must say, it has been a disaster.

Upon arrival, our room was not properly cleaned, with a dirty sleeper couch being the first thing that caught our attention.

Fortunately, Bab'Mkhize from the maintenance department managed to bring in another bed to compensate for the dirty sleeper couch.

The unit itself is not well-maintained, and it is clear that the cleaning staff had not done their job thoroughly.

Things only got worse from there. We reported a faulty fridge this morning, but despite promises to replace or fix it, nothing was done.

As a self-catering unit, a functioning fridge is essential, and it's appalling that they couldn't even provide this basic amenity.

But the cherry on top is the power outage that occurred today. I was shocked to discover that Durban Spa does not have a backup power system in place. When I called the reception to inquire about the situation, I was met with a dismissive attitude and a blame-shifting response, with the staff claiming that it was the municipality's fault.

In this day and age, it's unacceptable for a hotel not to have a backup power system, especially in an area prone to outages. The lack of accountability and poor customer service displayed by Durban Spa thus far is appalling, and I would not recommend this establishment to anyone. Unless they seriously revamp their maintenance, cleaning, and customer service, I would advise others to steer clear of Durban Spa.
