We got a quote from Chad from Durban Solar Power (Ballito based) who we were discussing from the 2 December 2025, upon finalisation and alot of promises was made based on 90% upfront payment and work commenced on the 12th December 2025 whereby i was told his team will be on site. A point of contention was i had a lithium battery which Chad acknowledged and claimed it would work with new inverter he was installing, Did not see Chad again until 18th December whereby the 3rd party installer (not an employee of Durban Solar Power) finished installation and we had an issue with battery not communicatiing with inverter. Chad installed the Deye app on my cell phone(only for viewing no setting control access) and indicated he will "be our one stop service for all solar related issues, and any issues he was there to assist"....lies. That matter was resolved and on 19th a COC was completed and remainder of 10% was paid in full settlement. 8th Jan 2026 we had 1st issue, a major power outage in the area an the inverter works only interminently, comes on, goes off. Chad does not respond until 12th Jan 2026 saying he was out country and the 3rd party installer was assigned to resolve issue. The 3rd party installer shares the communication with himself and Chad showing a blatant brush off and stating i must buy a new battery without even coming out to site or access situation because that was only thing he didnt charge for. Since then the installer came out and did a voltage test indicating the battery is not holding consistent charge of over 50 volt hence i need a new battery, yet upon installation and issuing of the COC the everything supposedly worked fine, somewhere between the 18th December to 8 Jan my battery became an issue, also between Chad and the installer alot of discrepancies on scope of work to that was set out to be done, differed vastly from what Chad promised and claimed he would do. Poor after sales service with alot promises made just to do a sale. Today is the 3 February 2026 i think Chad is still on holiday because he has not responded.
