Deposit Not Refunded

I was very disappointed with not receiving back my R3000 deposit for this hall. The contract I signed mentioned that my deposit was for breakages, however the reason they can't refund my money is for the late moving of everything out the hall. I was not made aware of a time for the venue to be cleared out and it was also not in my contract that I signed. The was a strip broken between a tile and the wooden floor. My dad told me it was like that, he then left a chair over it to prevent any guests from tripping over it. The security kept removing the chair. If a deposit is for breakages then what exactly was my R3000 used for? My guests and DJ left the hall at 12am as per my agreement as I had paid an extra R1000 to use the venue until 12am. If i knew there was a time limit for which I would lose my deposit, I would have not booked this venue until 12am. I am highly upset that my contract signed between DNCC and me had nothing to do with a time limit for removing things out the venue. Was it ever DNCC's intention to return my deposit???????
