Durban Manor Hotel & Conference Centre is bad, but has potential.

This hotel should replace all of the carpets from the reception area, the stairs leading to the rooms and inside the rooms. The smell of the old rugged/dirty carpets is terrible. The lack of a lift or service of someone taking guest luggage to the rooms lead to my heavy travelling bag being torn. The building is very big and has a lot of potential, but the cleanliness is not 100% and the smell all around the hotel (due to the smelly carpets) is very terrible. A huge renovation of the whole hotel is required if you really want to attract proper guests and have repeat business. The staff is however very friendly and helpful...I booked in on 18 March 2019. You should have air-cons and not fans as not all guests can stand the noise and air of the fan. You should also replace the very low & dirty chair at room 30 and also fix the door handle.
