A hotel to avoid

Booked accommodation and paid the full amount same time. One day before check in, I got an email that my accommodation has been cancelled. No one explained why it was cancelled considering that I had already paid a full amount and no refund was done. The worst part is that the period between 25-01 Jan is the busiest in Durban and I could not find any alternative accommodation due to hotels within the same price range being full. When I called and asked for the refund, I was told it will be in my account within 10 days.
