Won't Honour Warranty
A Geyser was installed approximately 6-7 years ago as part of an insurance claim (Standard Bank Insurance). At the time a plumber was contracted to install the geyser. On Sunday 21 January 2017, we were woken up by water streaming from the light fittings. No guess there... Burst geyser. Phoned Outsurance who then sent out an emergency plumber who evaluated the geyser not once but twice on Sunday. Outsurance accredited plumbers came out on Monday who evaluated the geyser. On Wednesday we were told the same plumber company had to come back to now take photos for Duratherm as the geyser is under warranty and that they cannot work on it until that warranty is honored. Received a phone cal today that Duratherm needs to go to the house to take pictures as the vendor appointed by Duratherm who now needs to take the photos have not received the ones sent to them by the Plumbing company. On contacting Duratherm, I was informed that they cannot honor the warranty as the geyser was not installed correctly. The incorrect installation according to their expert was that it was incorrect valves. My view - STEAR CLEAR - CONSUMERS NIGHTMARE - Duratherm geysers are of inferior quality if they only last more or less 6 to 7 years.
