Not honouring their 10 year warrantee

Both my Duratherm Geyser are still under the warranty period as confirmed by Future Comfort (their service company in the Cape).

The 200 litre solartherm failed on 27 Dec 2016. The inlet piping threads failed. I phoned ********** , the response I got was the warrantee does not cover the corroded threads. He was even interested in sending someone to look at the failure!!! So I replaced it at my cost hoping after the Christmas break that could contact a more responsible person. Future Comfort told me that since the geyser has been removed the warrantee is void.

The 100 litre vertical geyser failed on 31 Jan 2017. The threads for the heating element failed between the sheil and coupling. It too is still under warrantee. I phoned Future Comfort and emailed them all ino and pics. They say the warrantee is void because in inlet piping used is polycop. What does it have to do with a manufacturing defect. Again, no one was dispatched to investigate the failure. They just don't care about learning why their geysers fail. Again, I replaced the geyser at my cost.

I STRONGLY RECOMMEND AVOIDING DURATHERM AS THEY WILL NOT BACK THEIR 10 YEARS WARRANTEE!

However KWIKOT does stand behind their 5 year warrantee. On the 30 Jan 2017, my Kwikot geyser failed. I phoned them and within 2 hours a plumber was replacing it. It cost me nothing and the interruption to my tenants was minimal. NOW THAT'S SERVICE!
