Duratherm geyser installed by Ribeau 2

<p>In 2008 I installed a Duratherm geyser with a 10 year gaurantee, as i previously had rather bad durability from other brands with lesser gaurantees. The geyser was installed by Riaan from Ribeau Plumbing in the Helderberg area. Now after 9 years I have a problem with the geyser leaking. I contacted Riaan, who requested that I send him photos of the geyser installation so that he can log a warrantee claim with the manufacturers. After logging the claim and sending them the pictures, they declared the warrantee void as the installation was not done according to the SANS regulations and that it is unbalanced. Riaan, the installer, simply claims that he can rectify part of the installation but can do nothing about the system being unbalanced, as it is the way the piping was done. My insurance company states that it was the installer duty to see that the installation adheres to all SANS requirements, even if it meant redoing part of the pipework.</p> <p>So herewith my warning to all who read this. Avoid Ribeau plumbing and W.E.Geysers and their products at all costs. Ribeau will not accept responsibility for work they did that does not comply with SANS, hiding behind all kinds of excuses, and W.E.Geysers will not accept responsibility for their products, even though it is quite clear the the "non-compliance" they hide behind, could make absolutely no contribution to cause the type of failure I have on this geyser. They are also very quick to say the installation is non compliant, but did absolutely nothing to ensure compliance of the installation when the geyser was installed. If a compliant installation is that important to their warrantee, one would expect more diligence from them on this</p> <p>Pathetic service from both companies</p>
