SELLING OLD EXPIRED TYRES AS NEW

Hi,

In Jan 2020 I went to a Dunlop branch in Lenasia. I needed tyres for my mothers car and was advised on a tyre that was in my budget and was a good tyre.

I left my sister in the store as they were busy fitting the tyres, as i left for holiday that same day. when i returned home 2 weeks later i found the tyres were dirty and muddy like old tyres. When driving these tyres had major road noise even when reversing slowly the tyres makes noise like thay are flat. i then asked my mum to query with branch as i had to go to work. She had said that the manager was rude and adimant it that the tyres have nothing wrong with them but they will clean it up.

Country went into lockdown and couldnt go check the tyres or do anything. When locked down eased we we spent money from service station to station to see what was wrong with the car as we thought something was wrong with the car as it was pulling to the left as well. Suspension and engine mountings were so many diagnosis of other service station. I didn't trust to go back to Dunlop as I you are made to feel as you an idiot ND that there's nothing wrong.

I went to Kwikfit Lenasia in Dec 2021 who told me about rotation on the tyre and that's why it's pulling to the left. i had gone back to Dunlop Lenasia and told them that another tyre place said there was rotation on the tyre. They said i they will help put a claim through in Jan 2022 as all reps were off. I was booked to go to durban the next day and had to be safe I didn't trust the Dunlop person who said the tyre was safe. i then went to another tyre specialist who showed me that the tyres they sold to me was 6 years old 44/14 he explained to me where i could find this date. He also said the spare they gave me was not correct for my rim. He also showed me that the other tyres had cracks running in the thread which is a hazard and can cause blow out. Of which the Dunlop person never told me. As I was leaving the next day early and did not want to take the risk with these old tyres so I bought new tyres and fitted them.

Today when I got to the Dunlop place they didn't not follow up on the claim and had no feedback. They also told me that they can do nothin I told them they must reimburse me for the tyres that I had purchased but they did not agree.

The Pace tyre rep told the Dunlop branch that they could not do anything coz the tyres were to old but Dunlop sold me old tyres 6 years old tyres

BAD REPUTATION NEVER EVER GO TO DUNLOP, THEY ARE CONCERNED ABOUT PUSHING THEIR OLD STOCK NO CARE FOR THE CLIENT..DONT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE. People are concerned with their profits not with their clients...

Dunlop must realise that the tyre is round and so is life's circle.
