Dunlop- UNSAFE WORKSMANSHIP AND RUDE TREATMENT

Ive been a loyal customer of Dunlop since 2016, supporting them for all my tires, shocks and related purchases. (Between me and my partner they've made a lucrative amout of money out of us)

On December 15, 2020 I took an afternoon leave to have new front tires fit to my vehicle at Dulop' "Wheels and more" store in Florida. When I left this branch I felt a violent shake on the steering wheel. I slowed down and, because it was mostly highway traffic en route home I thought it best to keep slow speed and tripple check wheel nuts when arriving home. The next day was a public holiday and I didn't use the vehicle. Thursday, yesterday morning, I again picked up the vibration. At work I phoned Wheels and More informing them of the issue. I was requested to bring back in for a re-balancing. I specifically asked the guy I spoke to whether it would be fine to bring in the vehicle at/or around lunch time and if it would be enough time as I COULDN'T take off from work again. He told me that it would "be a 15min-max" job. I left the office around 3pm and arrived at the Florida branch around 3.30. They were, understandably, busy at the time so I waited around 30min before suggesting that I assist them in removing the wheels of the vehicle myself while I waited. The manager agreed and pointed to where i could park (in the rain) and remove the two front wheels MYSELF. I was shortly assisted by some worker. A while later after staff started working on my wheels I was informed that the wheels are "out of bounds" and that it's "unsafe to drive it but will work" by employee working with balancing.(one wheel was bad and the second "better"- I was told). My first question to the person was why I was never informed of this on Tuesday and how no one told me of the problem as this would have proved pointless to return for a second time if the wheels are, in fact damaged. "I wasn't here" came the reply. So I recommend that the spare rim got fitted to try and troubleshoot the issue. The manager informed me that there would be an extra cost. I thought it unfair as they had the spare wheel stripped on Tuesday to rotate the tires and had they picked up the issue we would have kept it on in the first place - regardless, no worries I agree and have the work performed. At payment time the (who I assume is the owner) reprimanded me on, what he called "impatience" on my end as he now had "several customers upset" as I allegedly "jumped the que".

To his disrespect and unfair comment I argue this: #1: I offered to remove my wheels myself whilst it was dripping in rain on the pavement!! #2: the manager send the staff to help me WITHOUT my request OR demand! and lastly this rude treatment is what I receive after I was told that the job was going to take "15 to 20min max" and that i could "sure, bring it in". During the work performed yesterday the balancing machine operator showed me the wheel condition, and it was NOTABLY damaged/"out of bounds" and that the damage is of an extent that it couldn't have been overlooked. There was no question about that.

I feel these people ignored the fact that the wheels was dangerously "out of bounds", fully knew (in their professional opinion) what the result of driving in that state may be dangerous, YET ignored the facts, potentially risking the safety of myself and my family as I intended to drive to the Cape next week! I now have 2 new tires and a dangerous vehicle to travel 1****m with! . When I arrived, fully understanding of the fact that they were busy by assisting to remove the wheels myself in an attempt to problem solve (which they agreed on) I was treated badly and with disrespect as if I was the cause of the problem.

They take your money to fit your purchase GLADLY - But if you have a problem you should go and sort it elsewhere, or risk paying for it whilst getting a foul treatment from the owner.

Absolutely disgraceful!

Id appreciate feedback from Dulop!!
