Dunesberry Patrenoster WORST EVER

What a hideous experience this is. We **** the mistake of booking a weekend away for my mom's 80th at Dunesberry Self Catering Cottages in Patrenoster. Well after reading what is almost a Bible on all their rules and regulations, indemnities and warnings about the 101 ways you can loose your deposit and after confirmirmin arrival at 20:00. They changed where we had to collect the keys from Patrenoster to Vredenburg. And in an area that must have been the down town section of the place. We could not find the house inbetween all the vagrants and drug dealers that the collection point had around. After about half an hour the agent agreed to meet us at KFC in the main road. She would put on her cars hazards and that how we would know which car was here. Can you imagine this was our introduction. And it just got worse. She came, would not get out of her vechile to bring us the keys, obviously concerned for her own safety, but quite happy to risk her guests. She handed keys and told us to follow her she will point is in the right direction. When we tried to google the address in Patrenoster only the letting agents address came up. Someone we use to know in Johannesburg finally gave us the directions. Well we found the place, but of course the keys dis not work. The agent sent the security company to see if the could help us get in. They arrived about 20 min or at least it felt like it after we 1st attempted to enter. The entire time the alarm of the unit was going off. Security eventually figured out that the agent had given us the incorrect set of keys. So now we got in, hours after the time we where suppose to. It's self catering and we where hoping to still get a restaurant open as we would have have been settled in at 08:00 had they not messed everything up. So now we spending out 1st night of an old ladies 80th birthday, hungry cold, disappointed and angry that we could have allowed ourselves to be ********** and treated as if they are doing us a favour having us as guests. I have travelled extensively, locally and abroad and this must rate as the worst experience ever. If you want to enjoy Patrenoster avoid Dunesberry and Stay at Patrenoster letting agents at all costs They rude, unkempt and could not care less about spoiling an old ladies 80th. People like this do the hospitality industry no justice and give the normally friendly South Africans a bad name. Avoid avoid avoid
