Property group refusing to refund my deposit

I contacted this company requesting to do a pop up sale at one of the malls they manage. Firstly they gave me different quotes on the prices/day. Then they gave me an invoice which said no refunds/cancellations. So i paid the deposit, and due to taxi violence(shooting) and looting at stores i requested to cancel. The center manager advised that it is best as the situation is out of control and is dangerous. The Property manager then advised i pick other dates, I explained that i cannot pick a random weekend just for the sake of it as it would not make business sense and i would like a refund. They are refusing to refund me my money and insist i pick any other weekend.
