Taken to Attorneys for wrong submission of claim
Mrs SS Potts had an operation at Geneva Clinic on 2012.04.18, Dr. G Smith (Anaesthetist) Pr.No. ***, invoice of R1024.36, was sent via Practice Relief who administered the clinics accounts, send the invoice the 19.04.2012 to the medical aid Gems with the wrong Member Aid No: ***( which should be 836568. On 02.10..2012 Practice Relief realise the account hasnt been paid and sent documentation to member to pay accounts with an overdue letter attached of 90 days, final letters was sent to member on final demand with interest on 26.11.2012. This is were the I followed up with gems as to why my account hasnt been paid because i had a pre approved operation which covered all expensis pertaining the eye operation. Gems told us that the Medical Aid no of the acount was wrong and they picked it up only then but Practice Relief didnt even know this was wrong, and we informed them on 26.11.2012, that we are not responsible for any mal administration on their part. 11.12.2012 it was noted that the medical aid no was wrong and they re-submitted the account, but unfortunately it was to late for gems to pay it. The clinic and claim dept acknowledge the fault and reason.
