Phone etiquette really bad

I'm waiting for a parcel to be delivered and this morning I received a tracking number from the supplier. I tracked the number on UTI's site and saw that the parcel had arrived at the branch in my home town. I called the East London branch number to find out if the parcel will be delivered today or tomorrow. The lady on the phone didn't speak clearly, answered me with one-worded \sentences"and put down the phone in my ear. If that's the first point of connection with the company"
