Extremely Poor Service and Lack of Accountability from DSV
Over the past six months, my experience with DSV as a courier service has been highly disappointing. Several factors set DSV apart as one of the least reliable delivery providers I have encountered.
Firstly, deliveries are rarely made on the estimated delivery date. In most cases, they are only completed several days after the promised date. The inefficiency of the Cape Town distribution center further exacerbates this issue. Parcels frequently remain at the distribution center for extended periods, sometimes for days on end. When inquiries are made regarding a parcel’s status, it can take up to a week for the team to locate it. Unfortunately, in many instances, the parcel is found to be damaged upon delivery.
Another concern is the apparent disregard for customer contact details. These details are collected at the time of booking but are seemingly never used to notify customers about tracking updates or to inform them of any issues, such as damage to their parcels. The lack of communication undermines the purpose of collecting these details.
In the last three months, I have experienced 12 damaged parcels, resulting in losses amounting to approximately R16,000. Despite paying for insurance on all these parcels, I have not received any compensation from DSV to date. This has been deeply frustrating and has caused significant financial strain.
It is particularly troubling that, despite DSV's services being more expensive than those of competitors, the quality of service is considerably worse. This combination of high costs, poor delivery timelines, lack of communication, and inadequate handling of claims is unacceptable and does not reflect the standards expected of a professional courier service.
