Terrible DSTV Installers

On 17 January I contacted DSTV Services as my one XtraView (I have two) decoder was damaged by lightning. This business seems to have a number of subcontractors acting as DSTV technicians. They sent someone whose WhatsApp number identified as Sound Experts. The technician installed a new decoder, set it up and charged me almost R3500. The very next day the decoder stopped working, showing a E43 error message.

After several unanswered calls and several ignored WhatsApp messages I finally managed to contact them on 22 January and three technicians arrived the next day. They proceeded to install a further two new decoders, replaced the LNB and replaced some cabling. The spent seven hours trying to make the system work, in the process using up all my airtime making lengthy calls to DSTV. This time I was charged R10 200!

The next day one of the XtraView decoders stopped working, displaying an E16 message. I have now spent two weeks calling them and sending messages without any response. The mobile numbers they have provided also now seems to have been suspended or discontinued.

These people have charged me close to R14 000 and I still do not have a working XtraView decoder.
